SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly swimming and diving team hits the road this week to participate in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Monterey Park.
The MPSF conference includes BYU, Hawai'i, Pacific, University of San Diego, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara, all of which will be joining the Mustangs at this week's championships.
Zach Cootes ranks first in the conference in the men's 400 IM after posting a time of 3:55.24, while Hailey Houck sits at the No. 3 spot in the conference in the women's 400 IM with a time of 4:23.17.
Lauren Pierce holds down the No. 2 spot in the conference for women's one-meter diving.
The swimmers will start competition Wednesday morning, which includes both men and women's events and will conclude with the finals on Saturday.
The Mustang divers will start competition Thursday morning with the men and women's one-meter and will continue on Friday and Saturday with the three-meter and platform.
