Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Falls at New Mexico, 5-2 Sunday
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Cal Poly men's tennis team had its four-match winning streak snapped Sunday after falling at New Mexico, 5-2.

The Lobos (5-6) won the doubles point after wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 spots. The Mustangs' (7-6) No. 3 pairing of junior Antoine Noel and freshman Gary Vardanyan won their fourth match in a row, winning 6-2 to improve their record as a pair to a team-best 4-1 this season.

In singles, Cal Poly was highlighted by sophomore Alex Stater who won at the No. 4 spot in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. He improves his record to a team-best 9-3 and has won his last six matches.

Senior Dominic Bechard (pictured) picked up the other singles win for the Mustangs. He won his match at the No. 5 spot in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 for his third straight singles win.

Cal Poly remains on the road for one more match. The Mustangs will face Utah State Wednesday at 2 p.m.
