EDITOR'S NOTE: Cal Poly men's basketball players write an original piece for each game-day program on which they're featured on the cover. Senior forward Kuba Niziol is the featured Mustang for the program's Saturday, Feb. 23 matchup versus Hawai'i. Game time is 7 p.m. inside Mott Athletics Center.

Reflecting on My Three Years in San Luis Obispo

My three years at Cal Poly has had its ups and downs, but I definitely feel that my time here has helped me grow as a person. I remember my first couple quarters in San Luis Obispo. I struggled with school, basketball and my life as a whole. But, right now, I'm getting ready to graduate and begin my adult life. At this point, I want to pursue my dream of playing professional basketball back in Europe, but you never know where the journey will take you.

I want to thank all of our fans for supporting the team during my time as a Mustang. You guys have been unbelievable and have always showed love and empathy through the tough times. Mott Athletics Center is definitely one of those places that has felt like home. It has been an honor to play in front of such an amazing crowd and have the best band in the Big West Conference.

Lastly, I wanted to thank my family, my teammates, the coaching staff and everyone in the athletics department. You guys allowed me to play basketball for one of the best academic schools in the United States and you've always been here for me when I needed it the most.

Enjoy tonight's game and go Mustangs!
