Dan Lambert had a remarkable career on the Cal Poly tennis courts. He won NCAA Division II All-American honors in each of his four seasons. He also was a doubles All-American in 1971.
Dan was a finalist in NCAA singles from 1972-74, and a quarter-finalist in his freshman season of 1971. In 1974, he reached the final round of 32 in Division I. His senior season record of 18-1 gave him a career record of 108-16 and a winning percentage of .871. Cal Poly teams finished 6th, 4th, 2nd and 3rd in the nation during his career.
In 1977 he played on the American Express Challenger's Tour. From 1979 to 1985 Dan owned a retail tennis shop in San Luis Obispo. From 1982 to 1990 he managed and operated the San Luis Bay Tennis Club in Avila Beach.
From 1990 until now he has been doing mapping and graphic design for the County of San Luis Obispo. Dan continues to play tennis competitively. He and wife Carol reside in San Luis Obispo and have a son.
