In the tradition rich history of Cal Poly baseball, where teams have captured numerous conference and regional championships, and individuals have gone on to continue their career at the professional level, nobody represented Cal Poly baseball better than Berdy Harr.
As an assistant coach from 1969-71, and head coach from 1972-1983, Harr recorded over 200 wins in his eleven years with the Mustangs. Leading the Mustangs to SCBA and CCAA Conference titles, including a 41-win season in 1977. With an outstanding work ethic, Harr coached Ozzie Smith and Mike Krukow who enjoyed successful careers at Cal Poly before continuing on at the professional level. Many of his other players signed professional contracts and continue to work in baseball today.
