Bill Proll - President

Bill Proll is a Lieutenant with the San Luis Obispo Police Department. He grew up in Danville, CA and came to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly, where he earned a degree in Public Administration. Bill’s favorite Mustang sport is baseball, and he regularly attends many other sporting events, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and wrestling. He has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for over 4 years, and is currently President Elect/Chair of the Public Relations Committee, and a member of the Special Events Committee. Bill is also a Law Enforcement Torch Run Regional Director for Special Olympics of Southern California, and he has served as a board member for the SLO County YMCA. Bill has also assisted the Mustangs with Oktoberfest, the Athletics Fund Drive, and the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction.

   

Warren Blankenburg - Vice President  

Warren Blankenburg is the Production Manager for The Tribune newspaper in San Luis Obispo. He was born and raised in Arroyo Grande, and is an avid AGHS Eagles fan. Warren’s favorite Cal Poly sports are football, baseball, and basketball. He has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for 7 years, and has served as vice-president. Warren has also served as Co-Chair for the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction Committee. He also assists with Oktoberfest, and many other athletics fundraising events.  

 

 

Linda Minton - Vice President

Linda Minton has been a banker on the Central Coast for over 30 years.  Linda was Senior VP of Mid State Bank/Rabobank.  She has started Minton Consulting Services and busy assisting local business in the community with financial, banking, marketing and organization needs.  She grew up in Hollywood and came to SLO to attend Cal Poly, where she majored in Business Administration.  She went on to earn a graduate degree in Commercial Banking from the University of Oklahoma.  Her favorite Cal Poly sports are football, basketball, and baseball.   Linda has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for more than 20 years. She has served as board president and as a member of the Executive, Marketing, Publicity, and Special Events Committees.  It is noteworthy that Linda was one of the original board members responsible for creating the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction that is still held today as one of our largest fund-rising events. Linda is an active member of the SLO Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the SLO Housing Authority Board of Directors, board member of Noor Foundation, as well as a board member on the SLO Children’s Museum.  She is a past-president and current member of Quota International.  Linda is a great Cal Poly supporter and has helped raise thousands of dollars for our student athletes.

 

 

 

 

Joe Heringes - Vice President

Joe is a regional manager for Lemos Feed and Pet Supply. He grew up in Orcutt, but moved north to attend Cal Poly and establish his career. Joe’s major at Cal Poly was Journalism. His favorite Mustang sports are football, basketball, and baseball. Tim has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board since 1998, and he was the 2001/02 board president. He has also chaired the Marketing Committee and currently serves as a member of that committee. Tim has assisted with many fundraising events, including the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction. Additional community service has included membership in Kiwanis Club; the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and volunteer work with pet-related organizations in SLO County.

 

Rollie McCormick - Past President  

Rollie McCormick, MAI is a principal in the firm of Schenberger, Taylor, McCormick, and Jecker, Inc. – Real Estate Appraisers, Consultants, and Investment Analysts. He grew up in Corning, CA and moved to SLO with his family at the age of 10. Rollie attended SLO High School and later lettered in track at Cal Poly, specializing in Long Jump and Sprints. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Cal Poly. Rollie’s favorite Cal Poly sport is baseball , but he also enjoys going to a variety of other sporting events. He has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for more than 7 years, and has served on the Executive Committee and as the Marketing Committee Chair. Rollie assists with Mustang Madness and other fundraisers. Away from Cal Poly, he is also a member of the SLO Exchange Club since 1989. 

   

Tim Banducci -Board Member

Tim Banducci is the retired owner of California-West, Inc., a real estate management firm. His son now owns the company.  Tim was raised in Bakersfield and moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1975. His favorite Cal Poly sports are football, men’s basketball, men’s soccer and baseball. Tim is a past president and past vice-president of the Mustang Stampede Club Board, and he has been a member of the board for more than 12 years. He is also a past president of the Five Cities Men’s Club.

Mike Chellsen - Board Member

Mike Chellsen is the owner and General Manager of ESPN Radio 1280/101.7 and K-Jewel 106.5/1400. He grew up in Southern California, and came to Cal Poly in 1984. Mike played basketball for the Mustangs from 1984-87, and he graduated in 1988 with a degree in Business Administration. His wife, Denise, is also a Mustang, having earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1989, and a master’s degree in 1992. Mike regularly attends Cal Poly basketball, football, baseball, and volleyball games.  His son David is on the Mustang Football team, playing Offensive Line and Special Teams. He is a 3 time Big Sky All Academic Team member, and was named to the CoSida Google Academic All American Regional Team in 2018 He has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for 8 years, and has served on the Marketing Committee. Mike has also assisted the Mustangs with Oktoberfest, and the Mustang Madness Dinners and Auctions.  Mike is also a member of Rotary Club de Tolosa of San Luis Obispo


 

Scott Dierks - Board Member

Scott is a long time resident of San Luis Obispo having attended San Luis Junior High, San Luis High School and Cal Poly. Currently Scott is self-employed and owns 444SLO Consulting Services working with many local businesses helping them with Strategy Planning, Leadership Development and Organization Effectiveness. Prior to his current work, he spent 17 years with CISCO SYSTEMS driving various global strategic initiatives including the International implementation of The Cisco Networking Academy Program. This initiative was and still is one of the largest corporate-led educational programs in existence. Prior to Cisco, Scott spent three years with the STARBRIGHT Foundation as Executive Director where he managed and directed the implementation of Starbright World, on-line 3-D play space for seriously ill children in the U.S.. In addition, he spent over six years living and working overseas in Japan, New Zealand and Europe as a Sales Executive for ALPINE ELECTRONICS based out of Iwaki City, Japan. Scott has recently rejoined the board after serving several years ago and is passionate about helping Cal Poly Athletics.

 

 

Denny d’Autremont - Board Member

Denny d'Autremont has been a Registered Representative for Guardian Life Insurance and Park Avenue Securities in San Luis Obispo for the last 45 years. He grew up in La Crescenta in the Los Angeles area. Denny attended Glendale Junior College and U.C. Irvine before coming to Cal Poly in the fall of 1969 on a basketball scholarship. He was the captain of the 1970-1971 team who qualified for the NCAA post season playoffs. He graduated from Cal Poly in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. His favorite Cal Poly sports are basketball and football. Denny is a past President of the Mustang Stampede Club Board and has been a member since 1973. He has assisted with many of the various fundraising events. He is also past President of the Caballeros de San Luis Obispo, past President of the SLO Riders, and past Captain of the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Posse.  Denny is a 35 year member of the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, a 25 year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, a longtime member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, and a past board member of the Boy Scouts of America Council. He lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife Nancy, eight children, and 17 grandchildren.

 

 

Matt Escobedo - Board Member

Matt Escobedo is currently working for Natural Stone Source in Nipomo and on a part-time basis at the Sponsorship Relations Manager for RACE SLO. He is a 2nd Generation SLO native. He wrestled at Cuesta College for two years and then went on to wrestle for Sacrament State. Matt and his wife Julie are avid runners competing through out the state. He has ran the Boston Marathon 2 times and the New York Marathon. His other hobby is scuba diving. He is a volunteer for Festival Mosaic and the SLO Symphony. He loves Cal Poly Wrestling and Football. His best memories were practicing with the Poly wrestling when  Hitchcock was the coach. Go Poly

J. Johnson - Board Member

J. Johnson is an attorney and J. Johnson Law Office, Inc. is located in Grover Beach. For 12 years prior to becoming an attorney, he was a police officer for the City of Pismo Beach. When J. Johnson was 9 years old, he moved with his family to SLO County. He majored in mathematics at Cal Poly, and later received Master of Public Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from Golden Gate University. His favorite Cal Poly sports are football, basketball, and baseball. J. Johnson has been a member of the Mustang Stampede Club Board for 8 years, and has served the board as vice-president and as president. He supports the Mustang Athletics fundraising programs by participating in every event possible.


 

Ryan Joiner - Board Member

Ryan Joiner grew up on a farm in the Central Valley of California before relocating to San Luis Obispo and getting degrees in exercise science from both Cuesta College and Cal Poly.  He is the owner/founder of Athlon Fitness & Performance here on the Central Coast.  Since 2003 he and his team have specialized in fitness and performance coaching to help our community look, feel, and perform at their best.  He has been a long-time supporter of Mustang Athletics and has served on the Stampede Club Board since 2016.  He regularly attends Cal Poly baseball games and wrestling matches. Sharon Day-Monroe - Board Member

Sharon begins her first year as a member of the board. She is a 2008 graduate with a bachelors of of science in Kinesiology. While attending Cal Poly Sharon was a member of both the Cal Poly women’s track and field and soccer programs from 2003-2008. In 2005 she won the NCAA  National Championship in the high jump and holds school records in both the high jump and hepthalon. Sharon was also named the women’s soccer Big West freshman of the year in 2003. Upon graduating from Cal Poly she went on to compete professionally in track and field. During her ten year career, Sharon competed in two Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012 as well as five World Championships for team USA. She holds the American record for the indoor pentathlon. Sharon is also in her second year as the athletic director on the Cal Poly Alumni Association board. Sharon and her husband are big supporters of Cal Poly and enjoy attending all athletic events.

Steve Sistler - Board Member

Steve Sistler is the Store Director for Haggen in San Luis Obispo. He grew up in Rockford, Illinois and moved to Fountain Valley, CA to attend high school. Steve met Kris – the woman who would become his wife – at Ventura College and wisely followed her to Cal Poly. He played football for the Mustangs after taking advantage of a “walk-on” opportunity. When asked to name his favorite Mustang sport, Steve could only say, “All of the sports are my favorites.” Steve earned a degree from Cal Poly in Agricultural Management. He has been a Mustang Stampede Club Board member for 6 years. He was Board Vice President for 3 years, and is currently the President. Steve founded and chaired Oktoberfest, and he has assisted with the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction.

 

Richard Smith - Board Member

 

Brooks Wise - Board Member

Brooks Wise has extensive experience in the banking industry, and he is currently the Regional President for Pacific Premier Bank. He grew up in Palos Verdes Estates, and then his older brother introduced him to Cal Poly and football coach Dave Grosz, who offered Brooks a "walk-on" opportunity. Brooks met his wife Katey (Galloway) Wise in the dorms his freshman year and is a Cal Poly alumnus. He played football for the Mustangs from 1977-81. In fact, he was a member of the 1980 Division II National Championship Team. It is no surprise that his favorite sport is football and is the past-chair of the Cal Poly Football Home Team. Brooks has severed on the Mustang Stampede Club Board for 22 years, and is a past-president. Additionally, his extensive community involvement includes service on the boards of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Maria Valley. Brooks has also assisted with the Mustang Madness Dinner and Auction, the Athletics Fund Drive, and the Home Team spring football game & BBQ.
