SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After winning two individual events and being part of a team relay win in the Cal Poly women’s swimming and diving team’s dual meet victory over UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, junior Amelia Feick has been named the Coca-Cola Cal Poly Student-Athlete of the Week.
Feick won the 200-yard breaststroke, 200 individual medley and was on the winning 200 medley relay team as the Mustangs swept UC Santa Cruz, with the men’s and women’s team combining to win 29 of the 32 events.
The men’s team won, 190-99, and the women’s team was victorious, 197-91.
Feick won the 200 breast with a time of 2:21.50, the second-fastest time on the team this season. She then won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.97, third-fastest time on the team this year. She was also on the Mustangs' winning 200 medley relay team that finished nearly eight seconds ahead of second place.
She was one of four Mustangs to win two individual events. Seventeen other Cal Poly swimmers won events in the meet.
The Mustangs will host their final meet of the 2018-19 season Saturday against Blue-Green rival UC Santa Barbara. The meet starts at 11 a.m. from Anderson Aquatics Center and will also be senior day. Admission is free to everyone.
