Gunn High School in Palo Alto, where he posted a 25-3 record as a senior under head coach Chris Horpel en route to a CIF-Central Coast Section title at 152 pounds … a two-time state meet qualifier and earned all-CIF-Central Coast Section honors three times … led Titans to De Anza League title … member of 2011 Fargo freestyle nationals team … also lettered in football as a freshman … maintained a grade-point average above 3.5 all four years in high school … visited Arizona State before choosing Cal Poly.
