October 9, 2012 | Women's Golf Cal Poly Claims Pair of Team Titles in Firestone Grill Invitational Five Cal Poly men’s golfers shot rounds in the 60s Tuesday and the Mustangs posted their second-best four-person 18-hole total in program history in the final round en route to victory in the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational at the Monarch Dunes Golf Club. The Mustang women’s team also claimed victory in the 54-hole event, led by freshman Drew Thomas with rounds of 74, 73 and 74 in her first collegiate event, missing the school record by one stroke with her 221 total.

She withdrew from the tournament hours later due to a severe right oblique abdominal strain, incurred on the third hole.
