Adell Shoots 85 in Opening Round of U.S. Women's Amateur, Then Withdraws
Cal Poly sophomore-to-be golfer Asia Adell carded a 14-over-par 85 and is well off the pace following the opening round of stroke-play qualifying in the 111th U.S. Women’s Amateur on Monday at the 6,399-yard, par-71 Rhode Island Country Club. She withdrew from the tournament hours later due to a severe right oblique abdominal strain, incurred on the third hole.
