SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Big West Conference Regular Season Champions will host Cal State Fullerton in a first-round match-up of the Big West Conference Basketball Tournament on Tuesday in Mott Gym at 7 pm.
Doors to Mott Gym open at 6 pm with all seating general admission. Tickets are available at the Cal Poly ticket office (756-5806), located in front of the Rec Center, or on line at GoPoly.com.
Tickets are $10 each for the general public and $5 for Big West students.
The ticket office is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Mustangs enter the game as the No. 1 seed after locking up the regular season championship on Saturday with an 88-66 win over Pacific. Cal Poly finished the regular season 16-13 overall and 12-4 in conference games.
Cal State Fullerton enters the game as the No. 8 seed and concluded the conference season with a 4-12 record and posts an 11-18 overall record.
Cal Poly is led by two-time Big West Player of the Year and three-time first-team selection, Kristina Santiago, who set a new school record for career-points in the win over Pacific. Earlier this season she established herself as the record holder in career-rebounds.
This season she averages 23.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while fellow senior Ashlee Burns chips in with 9.5 points while hitting 42 percent of her shots from long range.
Junior Kayla Griffin adds 8.9 points and is second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Jonae Ervin leads the team with 110 assists and is the nations leader in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.89
The Titans are led by thee-time all-conference player, Megan Richardson, who averages 16.2 points per game. Mya Olivier is second on the team scoring 8.9 points while leading the team with 7.5 boards per game.
Lauren Chow adds 8.2 points while hitting 35 percent of her shots from long range.
