Second Santiago Blog from Costa Rica
Greetings again from Tambor, Costa Rica!
Due to our lack of Internet while island hoping, I was unable to fill you in on our day yesterday. So here it is, after waking up super early and getting some grub, we headed off on a catamaran boat to Tortuga Island. It was an amazing 2 hour trip to the island in which we played in a pool, danced to music, and got some tanning in. After getting to the island, us girls ventured off engaging in all sorts of fun activities such as snorkeling, horse back riding, rides on the banana boat, and another amazing Costa Rican lunch with a live band.
Now we are here at the Barcelo Hotel and Resort. The best word to describe the environment here is paradise. To name a few features, we have beautiful rooms with decks and hammocks, a massive pool with tons of different sections to it, all you can eat snack shacks and restaurants that are included, a ten second walk down to the beach, and an awesome nature reserve walk.
After breakfast and team training in the pool, we had the rest of the day off to do what we pleased. Personally, I went down to the beach with some girls on the team, got in a run, and then enjoyed a dip in the warm watered ocean ( totally different from SLO's cold water). Following that most the team went on a ATV ride to an amazing waterfall where we swam and cliff jumped. Others went kayaking in the ocean, hikes through the nature reserve, and activities in the pool.
We just finished off the night with a delicious team meal at a steakhouse and some team bonding games. We are all enjoying this trip very much and could not be a happier group of ladies. Tomorrow we are off to zip line through the rainforest, so I will let you loyal Mustang fans know how it goes.
Pura Vida amigos,
