Cal Poly Opens Final Series of 2016 with Friday Doubleheader Sweep May 13, 2016 Junior righthander Sierra Hyland tossed a complete-game, five-hitter as the Cal Poly softball program opened its final series of the year and a Friday afternoon doubleheader by bettering UC Riverside at Bob Janssen Field, 3-1. Cal Poly completed the Friday sweep with a 2-1 win in game No. 2 as sophomore righthander Lindsey Chalmers (above) struck out three Highlanders in a complete-game, five-hitter.

Hyland Makes Big West History, but Cal Poly Splits Doubleheader May 7, 2016 Junior left fielder Courtney Tyler's run-scoring hit in the top of the sixth inning broke a 3-3 deadlock as the Cal Poly softball program opened a Saturday doubleheader versus Hawai'i with a 4-3 triumph at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Despite a complete-game, two-hitter from junior Sierra Hyland during which she moved in to 10th place on the Big West Conference career strikeout list, Cal Poly dropped game No. 2 after Hawai'i third baseman Nicole Lopez homered in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 1-0 decision.

Cal Poly Softball Raises $3,419 for Hearst Cancer Resource Center May 4, 2016 With donations and proceeds flowing from auctioned game-worn pink jerseys, sales of commemorative t-shirts and raffled gifts, the Cal Poly softball program raised $3,419 for the San Luis Obispo-based Hearst Cancer Resource Center during the program's annual NFCA StrikeOut Cancer doubleheader versus CSUN on Saturday, April 23.
