Men’s Tennis Ranked 47th, Dome 22nd in First ITA Poll

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly men's tennis team is ranked 47th in the nation while senior singles player, Andre Dome, is ranked 22nd in the first ITA Poll of the season.

The Mustangs concluded last season with a 14-7 overall record and a national ranking of 45th. Cal Poly advanced to the NCAA Championship last season for the first time in school history at the Division I level. 

Dome a senior from Arroyo Grande, Calif. enters the dual season with a 6-3 record having advanced through the qualifying rounds and playing in the ITA Championship.

Last season Dome posted a 19-5 singles record and was ranked in the top-100 for much of the season. This is the highest ranking a Cal Poly player has reached since the school made the move to Division I during the 1994-95 season. 

Also garnering national recognition was the doubles team of junior Jordan Bridge and sophomore Marco Comuzzo earning a ranking of 54. The duo compiled an 11-3 mark last season.

The Mustangs open the 2012 dual season on the road on Jan. 21 with the 27th-ranked University of San Diego.
