Cal Poly Men's Soccer Alumni in the Pros

In 2017, the Cal Poly men's soccer program featured 14 former players competing with professional clubs, both domestically and in Europe.

The 14 Mustang men's soccer alums – five of whom were selected in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft – opened 2017 in three different countries and four separate leagues:

Major League Soccer (4): Kip Colvey (San Jose Earthquakes), Ari Lassiter (LA Galaxy), George Malki (Houston Dynamo), Patrick McLain (Minnesota United FC).

United Soccer League (8): Junior Burgos (Reno 1868 FC), Justin Dhillon (LA Galaxy II), Wade Hamilton (Portland Timbers 2), Matt LaGrassa (Reno 1868 FC), Chase Minter (Real Monarchs SLC), Steve Palacios (Portland Timbers 2), Mackenzie Pridham (Reno 1868 FC), Kody Wakasa (Phoenix Rising FC).

Europe (2): Dakota Collins (NK HAŠK, Croatia), Anton Peterlin (Boldklubben af 1893, Denmark).

Additionally in 2017, Kip Colvey – who has represented his native New Zealand at U-17, U-23 and men's national team level – became the first former Mustang to appear in a FIFA tournament after being selected to represent the All Whites for the June 17-July 2 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
