Mustang Men’s Soccer Again Among National Attendance Leaders
The Mustang men’s soccer program finished among the top-10 Division I attendance leaders for the fifth-straight year following the final statistical announcement from the NCAA that Cal Poly closed the 2011 season ranked No. 8 after averaging 2,139 supporters per 11 autumn dates at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.

Big West Tournament in Crosshairs for Mustang Men's Soccer Team
The Cal Poly men’s soccer program controls its postseason fate as the Mustangs wrap the 2011 regular season schedule by hosting No. 9 UC Irvine on Tuesday, Nov. 1 inside Alex G. Spanos Stadium ahead of Friday’s nationally-televised Fox Soccer Channel showdown at No. 23 UC Santa Barbara. Both matches kick off at 7 p.m. The Mustangs (6-7-3, 3-4-1) enter play in sixth place in the Big West standings on 10 points, but can reignite their conference tournament dreams with favorable results against Big West-leading UC Irvine (13-5-1, 5-3-1) and fourth-place UC Santa Barbara (11-5-1, 4-4-0). The top-four programs in the conference standings qualify for the Nov. 9 (semifinal) and Nov. 12 (championship) Big West Tournament, a competition the Mustangs have never missed in three previous renditions.

Feighner Named as Candidate for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Mustang senior left back Wes Feighner made athletics department history on Wednesday morning by becoming the first men’s soccer player and just the second Cal Poly athlete to be named as a candidate for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. Feighner, a three-year captain who has started 54 of 55 games during his career, is one of 30 finalists for the honor, which recognizes outstanding performances in the classroom, community and on the playing field.
