Cal Poly Men's Golf Ninth After Two Rounds of Play in Braveheart Classic

CALIMESA, Calif. – Cal Poly golfers Justin Haley and Alex Romo are tied for 33rd place heading into the final round of the UC Riverside-hosted Braveheart Classic at the Oak Valley Golf Club.
On Monday, Haley carded a pair of 75s while Romo, competing as an individual, posted a 77 and 73 as both finished with 150 totals on the 7,003-yard, par-72 course.
As a team, Coach Scott Cartwright's Mustangs are ninth among 10 schools competing in the 54-hole event, recording a four-person 302 in the morning round and 303 in the afternoon round for a 605 total.
Sacramento State leads with a 563 total, followed by Cal State Fullerton at 573 and San Francisco at 575.
Cameron Rappleye of Sacramento State, Ji Huan Park of San Francisco and Brayden Eriksen of Utah Valley share the second-round lead with six-under-par 138 totals. Eriksen shot a 65 in the morning round while Rappleye carded a 66 in the afternoon round.
Jordan Weir of Sacramento State is one stroke behind the tri-leaders entering Tuesday's final round.
In addition to Haley (pictured above), Cal Poly's other scoring golfers include Scott Patterson (74-77) and Grant Martens (77-74) with 151 totals for 37th place, Bryce Greeley (76-77) with a 153 total for 48th place and Trevor Guthrie (77-85) with a 162 total for 64th place.
