Second Week of Spring Camp Winds Up With Brief Scrimmage Saturday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly football team wraps up the second week of Spring Camp with a brief scrimmage on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The situational scrimmage will be held on the upper turf field of the Cal Poly Sports Complex.

Ninth-year head coach Tim Walsh and his staff will direct the players through 18 plays of third downs, followed by two drives from the offense.

Another short scrimmage is scheduled for April 29. The 2017 Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, at 9:30 a.m. inside Alex G. Spanos Staadium. Admission is free.

The Home Team Spring Event has become an all-day affair, complete with the football game, golf tournament and evening social, silent auction and dinner.

A golf tournament follows at Dairy Creek Golf Course on Highway 1 midway between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with the round of golf to tee off with a shotgun start at 12 noon.

With the theme of "Gone but Never Forgotten," the social and silent auction begins at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Activity Center inside the Cal Poly Recreation Center. The dinner and program honoring Cal Poly football players and coaches who have passed will start at 7:30 p.m.

All money raised for the day's events on behalf of the Home Team will go to support the Cal Poly football program.
