KKFX-TV to Air Simulcast of Cal Poly-Montana Football Game
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – KKFX/FOX 11, the FOX affiliate for San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, will provide a telecast of Cal Poly's Big Sky Conference football game at Montana on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The announcement was made jointly Monday by Mustang Director of Athletics Don Oberhelman and KCOY/FOX 11 General Manager Kevin Harlan.
The game at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana, will be produced by Max Media of Montana. Chris Byers of KULR-TV in Billings calls the play-by-play while former Grizzly quarterback John Edwards will provide in-booth color. Max Media's Shaun Rainey will serve as the sideline reporter.
KCOY televised Cal Poly home football games on a tape-delayed basis in 1981, one year after the Mustangs' NCAA Division II national championship season. The broadcasts were aired following the 11 p.m. newscast.
Kickoff for the Cal Poly vs. Montana game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Pacific.
Cal Poly football is presented by French Hospital Medical Center.
