Tom Lee coached numerous sports at Cal Poly, including football, baseball and basketball, but truly distinguished himself in boxing.
His teams were ranked in the top 10 nationally until 1962 when boxing was dropped by most NCAA institutions. Tom produced one National Champion, 5 PCAA Champions, and 25 NCAA Boxing Coaches Association Champions. Tom was considered one of the top coaches in the nation and held boxing clinics internationally as well.
Lee, who passed away in 2008, enjoyed exercising at the local pool daily. He wrote two books, one an autobiography, the other on water exercise. He resided in San Luis Obispo and was proud of his 3 children.
