Ken Walker, Cal Poly's Faculty Athletic Representative since 2007, has served as a professor in the philosophy department at Cal Poly since 1973. Walker also was Faculty Athletic Representative at Cal Poly from 1980-83.

Walker was Cal Poly's director of athletics from 1983-91.

Before coming to Cal Poly, Walker was a teacher at Westchester High School in Los Angeles (1967-68) and a lecturer at the University of Southern California (1969-73) and Mt. Saint Mary's College (1970-71).

Walker earned his bachelor's degree in English and history from USC in 1965 and studied English at UC Berkeley and American Studies at USC before obtaining his master's degree in philosophy at USC in 1969.

Walker also obtained his PhD in philosophy at USC in 1973 and was a visiting fellow in philosophy at Princeton during the 1980-81 academic year.
