Shaun Russell oversees marketing and promotional efforts for
each of Cal Poly's 20 sport programs including developing and
managing advertising, marketing and ticketing campaigns for all
sports.
In addition, he manages all video board content and operations at
Alex G. Spanos Stadium and coordinates social media coordination
for the department along with assisting with fundraising efforts
through the Stampede Club.
He also provides leadership and budget oversight for both the
cheer and dance programs as well as the Mustang Maniacs, Cal Poly's
student-sprit group, and manages the marketing internship program
employing 15-20 student interns annually, earning credit for their
respective school of study.
Prior to joining the Cal Poly Mustang team, Russell spent six
years working at his alma mater, the University of Maine, in
varying capacities starting as a marketing assistant and leaving
the university as the Director of Marketing and Corporate
Relations.
Prior work experience include stints in minor and major league
baseball and internship positions in marketing, media relations,
and corporate sales for the University of Rhode Island and the
University of Maine.
Russell and his wife Michelina have two sons, Colton and Grady,
and one daughter, Maslyn, and reside in Atascadero, Calif.
