Carly Head became an Academic Advisor at Cal Poly in August
2010. Prior to this position, Carly worked as an Academic
Coordinator during her graduate studies at Cal Poly.
After growing up in San Ramon, Calif., Carly moved to Long Beach
to pursue her undergraduate education. In May 2008, she earned a
bachelor's degree in business administration from California State
University, Long Beach, where she competed for three seasons as a
student-athlete for the Long Beach State rowing team. Carly
completed her master’s degree in counseling and guidance,
with an emphasis in K-12 school counseling, in June 2010 from Cal
Poly.
In her current role as Academic Advisor, she works with 11 teams.
Other responsibilities include overseeing Student Athlete Affairs
(CHAMPS), the Academic Coordinator Program, helping with Block P,
and being a resource to student-athletes.
She is a member of the National Athletic Academic Advisors
Association (N4A) and the National Academic Advisors Association
(NACADA).
Carly and her husband Scott reside in San Luis Obispo.
