After playing primarily as Cal Poly’s designated hitter in 2008 and with 38 starts in left field in 2009, will again be the starter in left field this spring at Cal Poly.

2009: Started 48 games, all but 10 in left field ... sported .301 average with 11 doubles, three triples and nine home runs, including a grand slam at Cal on March 15 and a walk-off three-run shot in 11th inning against San Francisco on May 2 ... had two hits in four straight games following 1-for-9 start and was hitting .375 seven games into season ... 7-for-14 in Pacific series with a double, two home runs and four RBI ... 5-for-11 in San Francisco and Long Beach State series ... 17 multiple-hit games and nine multiple-RBI contests ... five-game hitting streak snapped by Houston ... 4-for-5 with two RBI against Cal State Northridge on April 3, 3-for-5 with three RBI against Pacific on April 11 and 4-for-4 with five RBI against San Francisco on May 2 ... 4-for-8 (.500) with the bases loaded ... 10 RBI in 16 opportunities with a runner at third base and less than two outs ... begins 2010 season with 17 career home runs, two shy of all-time top 10 at Cal Poly ... played summer ball for San Luis Obispo Blues and sported a .319 mark with two doubles, four triples, a home run and 14 RBI ... stole 12 of 14 bases and handled 40 chances errorlessly in the outfield.

2008: A solid .350 leadoff hitter with 46 starts, 14 in the outfield and 32 as designated hitter, in his sophomore season at Cal Poly ... missed seven games with broken bone in big toe ... 13 doubles, two triples and eight home runs with 33 RBIs en route to second-team All-Big West honors ... 13-game hitting streak snapped by Cal State Northridge ... hit two homers in opener of Washington series March 7 ... went 3-for-4 in that game and 4-for-5 against UCSB on March 4 ... 4-for-11 in UCLA series, 4-for-9 in Santa Clara twinbill and 12-for-21 in five-game series against Fresno State ... 16 multiple-hit games, including 4-for-5 game aganst UCSB on March 4 and four three-hit games ... 11 multiple-RBI games, including pair of three-RBI contests ... placed on Brooks Wallace Watch list prior to start of 2008 season ... played summer ball for Anchorage Glacier Pilots in Alaska Baseball League ... hit .305 with 11 doubles, three home runs and 27 RBIs ... second in the league with his RBIs ... stole 13 of 15 bases for first-place Glacier Pilots, who placed seventh in NBC Semi-Pro World Series at Wichita, Kansas ... drafted in 33rd round by Minnesota in June 2008.

2007: A solid true freshman season with a .310 batting average en route to Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America honors ... played in 45 games with 32 starts (12 in left field and 20 as designated hitter) ... scored 27 runs and knocked in 13 more ... six doubles and a pair of triples  ... lifted average 79 points after going 6-for-11 in Pacific series and 4-for-6 in Cal State Northridge series ... hit two-run single up the middle in 11th inning to tie game against Cal State Northridge on April 6 ... went 4-for-8 in UNLV series and 4-for-11 in season-ending UC Santa Barbara series ... hit a double and triple against San Diego on Jan. 27 and also tripled against Pacific on March 31 ... nine multiple-hit games ... hit .412 in 19 Big West games ... played for Anchorage Glacier Pilots, hitting .167 with four doubles, a home run and 9-for-10 in stolen bases.

Prep: A four-year varsity letter winner in baseball at Liberty High School in Bakersfield under head coach Rob Amble as an outfielder, designated hitter and catcher ... led Patriots to four straight Southeast Yosemite League titles and a CIF-Central Section championship in 2003 ... hit .488 in senior season with 12 home runs, 36 RBIs and was 16-for-20 in stolen bases ... as a junior hit .459 with 11 doubles, a triple and nine home runs, driving in 38 runs and stealing 24 of 30 bases ... his 31 career home runs is a section record and he also had 129 RBIs and 150 runs scored despite 98 walks ... drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 34th round in June 2006 ... selected to play in Area Code Games in summer of 2005 ... compiled 3.96 grade-point average.

Personal: Son of Roger and Dixie Yoder ... one brother, Adam, and one sister, Hannah ... wants to play professional baseball or establish his own physical therapy business ... was a gymnast for 13 years ... born July 14, 1987, in Fresno, Calif. ... business major.
